It had been a busy few months with other projects developing at a pace. Meanwhile, whilst still needing to eat, commissions for woodturning / carving have provided time in the workshop away from research on the PC.

A  'Large Salad Bowl' Commission is nothing new, but to take the order via contact through this website from Brussels just goes to prove that on-line business for bespoke handcrafted products does work.   The finished Hardwood Salad Bowl hand turned in my workshop measures some 14" x 6 " - and yes it is sat on a large jam jar in the phot - it was what cam eto hand :-)

The next project, from my local area of Chapel en le Frith, Capital Of the High Peak none the less, was an education in carving English Oak - I have confirmed that as it ages it gets a lot harder and carving by hand is very hard on the hands ..... or my hands have gone a bit soft over the last few months. I look forward to seeing this Roof Finial in place some 50 ft up above Bank Hall Lodge.

Creating an Interesting Foreground in Landscape

Painting Workshop for Adults

Liven up your landscapes with an interesting foreground! Local artist Linda Moss will work with you to try out various mixed media techniques to add vibrancy and depth to your paintings. You can also complete a landscape painting in the session. Bring your own sketchbook, watercolour paper and art materials, and an apron!
