Burr Oak Open Form

Made from a large section of very weathered and split burr oak, this shallow form is part sculpture part bowl and is only the second form of this style for me.  An area I plan to explore more with my faceplate turning, developing more toward sculpture whilst trying to retain a 'use'.

Finished in linseed oil, the oak will over a long time develop its own dark colour and patina. This can be assisted through further applications of oil every year - little and not too often !

An ideal fruit bowl as there is ample room for air to pass around the fruits.

Price £120 - SOLD

A further 3 open forms to be made in the spring of 2012 having secured 3 additional large section burrs. Please use the contact form to reserve a blank .
