Night Stations is a series of site-specific light installations set in the nocturnal landscape. Placed in the rural environment, often on a vast scale, they invite audiences to reconsider their assumptions about the land. Created by Charles Monkhouse, supported by a team of other professionals and technicians, Night Stations seeks to engage with local communities and stakeholders, not only to facilitate but also to enrich its outcomes with local knowledge and tradition. Each installation is a response to its location, taking advantage of the cover of dark to reveal what is often hidden by the light day.
